[email protected] prayersugarhillchurch.com well, today I want to think about Daniel 2, verses 22 and 23. It says, it is he who reveals the profound and hidden things. He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells in him. Even now, God, you have made known to me.
[00:00:28] Even now, God, you've made known to me what we requested of you. Now, I want to be honest for a second. Some of you listening this week are carrying something you haven't fully set down. Something that isn't your fault. Something you can't fix. Maybe it's been going on a long time. You've prayed and it hasn't changed. And some part of you started to wonder if anyone is actually listening. If we're not careful, we'll start reading the Silence's absence. We'll begin to think, God, if you were really there, something would have changed by now. If God. God was there, it would feel different than this. Now, we spent this week thinking about Daniel, Chapter two. This guy, this young man that was handed a death sentence for a crisis he didn't create, who took it straight to God instead of trying to fix it himself. And he discovered that God had already been working before he even knew to ask.
[00:01:11] After the answer comes, Daniel prays one of the richest prayers in the Old Testament. He says, it is God who reveals profound and hidden things. It is God who knows what is in the darkness. And it's in him that light dwells. That eventually figured it out. He knows what's in the darkness. Present tense, ongoing reality. That's not just a truth that applies to Daniel in some Babylonian palace 3,000 years ago. It's a truth for whatever you're sitting in the dark with right now. Now, here's what I want you to carry out of this series. More than any single point. When your world falls apart, God is already there. Not eventually, not when you get loud enough, not after you've done enough right things to earn his attention already. You are not behind. You are not forgotten. You are not too far into the mess for God to find you. He was already in the room before you walked in. Now I think about how much energy I've spent trying to catch God up on my situation, praying like I need to convince him something is wrong or urgent or worth this time. But that's not the posture that Daniel takes. Daniel's posture is worship before the outcome changes. Anything else about his circumstances? He blesses God because of who go God already is, not just because of what God just did. And that's the move for us too. Not I'll trust you once I see the answer, but I trust you because you are already there. Before I asked wherever you are this week, the diagnosis, the marriage, the job, the kid, the thing you haven't told anyone about. He knows what's in the darkness and the light dwells in him, which means it's not actually dark to him at all. You are not behind. You are not forgotten. You are not too far into the mess. You, God was already in the room before you even walked in. I hope that provides encouragement for you today. Have a great day.
