A story without a next step is just a nice story—so today, we're getting practical. We've spent the entire week walking through Daniel chapter 2, watching a young man face an impossible crisis by doing something most of us struggle with: going to God first, praying honestly, and trusting that God was already at work before he even knew to ask. Now it's time to take what we've learned and apply it to whatever you're carrying right now. In today's episode, you'll get a simple, actionable challenge that could shift how alone you feel in the hard thing you're walking through. If […]

[00:00:00] Well, hey, friends, welcome to Friday's edition of the Weekday Podcast. If you happen to miss any of this week, I want to encourage you to spend some time over the next couple days and catch up. Every single episode connects to one another, even though I think even if you haven't heard it, today is going to be helpful. Today we're in Daniel, chapter 2, verse 23, where Daniel says to you, o God of my Father, I give thanks and praise for you have given me wisdom and power. Now, we spent this whole week talking about Daniel, who woke up one day with a problem. He didn't create it, he couldn't fix it. And an execution order attached to his name because a king had a bad dream. And what we've done is we've watched him go to his friends instead of a whiteboard, we've watched him pray a simple, honest prayer instead of a polished one. We've watched him discover that God had already been working before he ever asked. So today I want to give you something practical, because a story without a next step is just a nice story. So here's what I want you to do this week. Name one thing. Name one situation in your life right now that you did not cause. You cannot fix on your own. Now, it might be something you've carried for years, or it might be brand new. You don't have to solve it today. You don't even have to fully understand it today. Here's encouragement. Just name it. Just name it. Then do what Daniel did. Take it to someone you trust and pray about it together, out loud, simply, honestly. And here's what's going on. Say to them, here's what I need. Would you help me? That's a complete prayer. You don't need religious vocabulary. You don't need a to perform in that moment. And then after you've prayed with them, this is the part that actually changes something inside of you. Acknowledge that God was already in this situation before you brought it to Him. Not because saying that fixes the circumstance, it might not, but because it changes how alone you feel carrying it. I think about Daniel's prayer after that answer came. He says to you, oh, God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise for you have given me the wisdom and the power past tense already given. He was thanking God for a in the moment, not for a sudden rescue. Instead, he was recognizing a presence that had been there the whole time. And that's the invitation for you this week that whatever you're holding, maybe it's pausing before you react. [00:02:04] You know, instead of spiraling. Maybe it's calling the friend instead of doom scrolling. Maybe it's simply saying out loud in your own kitchen. God, I know you're already in this even though I can't see how you yet. Now you don't have to have it all figured out to take a next step. You just have to be willing to stop carrying it like it's yours alone. So here's the challenge as we close out this week in the podcast. Pick one thing today, name it, say it to God out loud if you can. And then let this truth actually change how you carry it this week. Not eventually, not once the outcome changes, but right now. Because he was already there before you said a word. He's not catching up on your situation. [00:02:42] He never was behind. He's already in the room. You do not have to have it all figured out to hand it over. You just have to stop carrying it like it's yours alone. Have a great day. I hope to see you soon.
