[00:00:07] Speaker A: Welcome to the Weekday Podcast of Sugar Hill Church, where we desire to help you know God and discover your purpose, whether you're exercising, driving, meditating, or just hanging out while you tune in with us today. Thanks. We hope these next five minutes help you feel encouraged and inspired for your day. [00:00:22] Speaker B: Well, hey friends, welcome to another edition of the Weekday Podcast. If you haven't considered doing this yet, would you consider sharing these with a friend? Send them to weekdaypodcast.com and you can find hundreds of episodes, episodes and hopefully a topic that would be helpful to you. Well, one of the things I know is that we all make mistakes. Oftentimes we do it without even realizing it. Thankfully, Jesus promised that His Holy Spirit would help us to recognize our sin and he'd guide us towards righteousness. This process is absolutely crucial for our growth and for our transformation. Here's what Jesus says in John 16, verse 8. He says, and he talking about the Holy Spirit when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment. And so what Jesus is explaining to his disciples is that the Holy Spirit would help us to understand sin, righteousness and judgment. Now this conviction is not meant to make us feel bad, but to help us to see truth and turn towards what is right. In fact, the term holy and Holy Spirit means to be set apart, to be special, to be pure, to be dedicated to God. It's about living in such a way that shows love, goodness and respect for God and for others. So one of the things I'm convinced of is that when you encounter the Holy Spirit, it leads us to holiness. So I want to encourage you when you feel a nudge in our hearts telling us that something isn't right, maybe that's the Holy Spirit guiding us. And that guidance is what helps us grow, helps us to grow closer to Jesus. Because what God desires is that his presence would transform us, not just for us to be in his presence, to be transformed by it. And that's, you know, similar to a coach on this earth. A coach doesn't just praise you for what you do, right? He also points out where you can improve and where you can become the best you can be. In a similar way way, the Holy Spirit helps us to see our mistakes and encourages us to make positive changes. So today I want you to think about the Holy Spirit. He's our helper. He's our guide. He's our teacher. He's our peace giver. But he's also our convictor. He supports us. He leads us to truth. He helps us to learn and remember, he gives us peace, but he also points out our mistakes so that we can grow. So I want to encourage you, embrace the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life, and what I think you'll find is you'll experience a deeper, more fulfilling walk with Jesus. Have a great day. We'll see you back here soon. [00:02:40] Speaker A: Thanks so much for joining us today for the weekday podcast.
