[00:00:06] Speaker B: Welcome to the Weekday Podcast of Sugar Hill Church where we desire to help you know God and discover your purpose, whether you're exercising, driving, meditating or just hanging out while you tune in with us today. Thanks. We hope these next five minutes help you feel encouraged and inspired for your day. [00:00:22] Speaker C: Hi everybody and thanks so much for joining me on today's weekday podcast where I want to talk about these three words. You ready? Your a priest. That's right, you're a priest. Listen to what Exodus 19:6 has to say. You shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. Listen again. You shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. A priest makes the God connection verbal and sometimes visible. A priest represents human needs before God, sets God's word before men and women. God and humans have something to do with one another, everything to do with one another. A priest says and acts that reality. Now, we tend to think of priests in the sense of title, but this text gives us a picture that we are a priest because of the connection we have with a holy and a righteous heavenly Father. The Hebrews became an entire community of folks doing that for one another. Being priestly. Each was being trained in the rigors of a life of faith that consisted of listening to God, receiving His grace, obeying his commands, receiving his promises. Let me go through those again. This is what the people, the Hebrews were sharing with one another and learning as they worked their way through this human life. Listening to God, receiving His grace, obeying his commands and receiving his promises. Simply by being out of Egypt, they were in a position to realize that nothing in them or about them could ever again be be understood apart from the presence and the action of a holy and a righteous God. That and that alone, whether they carried through on it or not, qualifies them to be priests. Embarrassingly forgetful of the God who saves us and easily distracted from the God who is with us. We need priests to remind us of God, to confront us with his reality. And we need a lot of them. This is called a family of faith. This is called the body of Christ. God put us in a kingdom of priests made up of simple followers of Jesus like you and me. And we present people to God and God to people. Let this be your prayer today. Lord, how can I speak and act who you are and your reality to those folks that I know presenting to you to them. Amen. Friend, go be that holy priest today. You shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. Remember, it is so easy to be forgetful of the God who saves us and so easily distracted from the God who is with us. We need one another in this body of Christ to be holy priests, to remind one another and to confront one another with the presence, the power and the protection that comes with the promises of God. And we need a lot of them. Join me in that today. God bless you friend and thanks so much for joining me on today's WE Weekday podcast. [00:04:14] Speaker B: Thanks so much for joining us today for the weekday podcast. Our prayer is that the encouragement you just heard would help you live more like Jesus today.
