[00:00:00] Foreign. [00:00:05] Hey, everybody, Pastor Chuck Allen here with another weekday podcast and thanks so much for joining it. Today I want to be in day two of struggling and working our way through spiritual warfare. Today I want to talk about what it is to stand strong in the storm. [00:00:22] It's not always easy, and honestly, sometimes I think we blame poor choices on spiritual warfare. But the truth is, spiritual warfare is a extremely. [00:00:34] Often it happens regularly in our life. Sometimes we just don't see it for what it is. And one of the great metaphors of the Bible is storms. Jesus tells this parable in Matthew 7 about two houses, one built on sand, one on a rock. Same rain, same wind, same storm, different results. And storms, they're not just metaphorical, they're the anxiety that grip in our chest, the discouragement that lingers for days, the conflict that feels like it'll never be resolved. Storms, friend, they're real. But here's where spiritual warfare comes in. Paul says in 2nd Corinthians 10:4, we use God's mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. You see, the storm isn't just outside of you, happening around you. [00:01:27] Often the storm is raging inside you. Our thoughts, our strongholds, our fears. But you're not defenseless. You've been given mighty weapons, weapons like prayer and worship, scripture and community. [00:01:42] When you think about that, worship is a weapon. I mean, in the ancient days, they would send out the choir in front of the warriors because that was how you prepared for battle. Sometimes the best thing you can do is just crank up a worship song in the middle of your doldrums and just let it soothe your soul, friend, listen. The enemy wants you to believe that storms are the end of the story. [00:02:10] But now if you think about worship as a weapon, you can also think of prayer as a strategy. You can think of scripture as a sword. When you sing in a storm, darkness loses its grip. When you pray through the fear, you find strength that's not your own. And when you speak God's word out loud, the lies crumble and fall around you. I want to say it again. The enemy wants you to believe the storm is the end of the story, that the darkness always wins, but nothing will change. I mean, that's what the enemy wants to tell you. But spiritual warfare reminds us God still speaks, still calm seas and still raises the dead. He's still in the miracle working business in you, around you, and for you. So if you're in the middle of a storm today, remember you are armed with God's power. You do not have to fight with your cleanse, with your fists clenched. You fight by standing firm in his promises. You fight by being on your knees. You fight by worshiping and praising. You fight by literally opening up God's word and letting it come alive in your life. Listen again to Ephesians 6:13. [00:03:18] Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle, you will still be standing firm. That's it, y'. All. Standing firm. That's the goal. Not because you figured it out. Not because you did it perfectly, not because you're strong enough. Not because you have a strong enough will. But because he is more than enough in every way and in every shape. So today, don't let the storm convince you that you've lost. Lift your head. Stand strong. [00:03:51] The one who is with you is greater than what is against you. Thanks so much for listening in to today's weekday podcast. I trust you can face your storm today and when you put your head on the pillow tonight, that you will have looked back and saw how God did something unique and wondrous in your life and you saw him defeat that storm. God bless you, friend. Thanks so much for joining me on today's weekday podcast.
