[00:00:07] Speaker A: Welcome to the Weekday Podcast of Sugar Hill Church, where we desire to help you know God and discover your purpose, whether you're exercising, driving, meditating, or just hanging out while you tune in with us today. Thanks. We hope these next five minutes help you feel encouraged and inspired for your day. [00:00:22] Speaker B: Well, hey, friends, thanks so much for being on the weekday podcast. If there's ever a topic you'd love for us to explore, drop us a [email protected] well, Proverbs 11, verse 2 has this one little reminder. When pride comes, then comes disgrace. But with humility comes wisdom. Now, have you ever made a mistake and tried to cover it up? Maybe you overspent and you didn't want to admit it. Maybe you took a wrong turn and you refused to ask for directions. One of the things that I've learned in my living is that pride that has a way of keeping us stuck. Now, the prodigal son in Luke 15, he had a choice. He could let pride keep him in the pig pen, or he could humble himself and he could go home. Now, here's what happens with pride. And this is why it's so sneaky. It whispers. And when it whispers, it says, I can fix this myself, right? I can do this. I don't need to turn around. But humility, it says, I need help. So today I want to encourage you. What are you carrying today? Maybe it's financial stress, maybe it's a broken relationship. Maybe it's spiritual struggles. Pride could be the thing that's keeping you from seeking help. Now, I just want to encourage you today, if that's you, don't let pride rob you of redemption. Maybe today you want to identify an area where pride may be keeping you from asking for help. Maybe today is the day that you take a step. Whether it's seeking wise counsel, whether it's apologizing or surrendering it to God, or calling a friend and saying, hey, I've got something I just am struggling with. Can I talk to you about it today? Take a step today, because here's what I found, is that freedom, it doesn't start with pride. Freedom starts with humility. And so today, I want to encourage you to maybe consider personalizing this prayer and just say something like this. Dear God, I don't want pride to keep me stuck. Help me to humble myself, God. Help me to admit where I need help and to trust you that you'll lead me forward in Jesus name. Amen. And hey, if you ever need somebody to connect with and anybody to pray with, you. We'd be honored to do that. Just drop us a note at [email protected] have a great day. We'll see you back here soon. [00:02:28] Speaker A: Thanks so much for joining us today for the weekday podcast. Our prayer is that the encouragement you just heard would help you live more like Jesus today. We would love to see you at Sugar Hill Church for one of our gatherings each Sunday at 9, 15 and 11, and we're always streaming live at Live Sugarhill Church. Thanks again for joining us today.
