[00:00:22] Speaker A: Good morning, beautiful people. This is Pastor Chuck Allen, and thanks so much for joining me on today's weekday podcast, where today I want to finish up our chat on Psalm 99, 19, and today I'll go back to verse 12. Now, if you missed Monday and Wednesday of this week, I talked about the magnificent creation. Then I talked about God's divine instructions, and today I want to talk about personal transformation. Yeah, here's what verse 12 says in Psalm 19 in the New Living Translation. How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins. Don't let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of grievance.
Whoa, that is a mouthful. Talk about radical honesty. I mean, this is candor at its finest. The psalmist isn't pretending to be perfect. He's asking God to reveal the hidden corners of his heart to cleanse him from the inside out. This isn't about shame. This is about growth. It's about becoming. Many of us think the Christian life is what we do, but I believe Jesus teaches all the time, and even in the teachings, we can feel the presence of Jesus in this Old Testament psalm, ready to know that if there is sin that's lurking in our hearts, Jesus can cleanse us from them and we can be delivered. I mean, again, God never speaks to us in shame. He doesn't speak to us in guilt. He speaks to us about growth and becoming. Listen to the final verse. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. What a powerful prayer. It's not just about avoiding wrong. It's about actively pursuing what's right, about aligning our inner world with God's heart. May the words of my mouth, what we say, and the meditation of my heart, what we think on, would they be pleasing to God? Nowhere in there does it say, hey, the good stuff I go do, it's about aligning our inner world and then what we do follow suit. Your words matter, your thoughts matter. They're not just random, they're seeds that grow into your future. Today, I want you to know you're a work in progress friend, and that's a beautiful thing. You're loved exactly as you are. That's an awesome thing. And simultaneously, you're invited to become more, which is absolutely colossal. Embrace his grace, pursue your growth, and recognize his extraordinary work in your life. Amen, Amen and Amen. Be blessed today. And thanks so much for joining me on today's weekday podcast.
