[00:00:08] Chuck Allen here. And I want to thank you for joining me on today's weekday podcast on this Monday.
[00:00:13] You know, I want to talk a little bit this week about small things. I just completed writing a book and it'll be out in. In a few weeks. But the concept behind it is. Well, let me just jump into the podcast and. You'll get it. There's this honest thought that I keep coming back to over and over, and here you go. If I were God. Now, if you just have there, you know, have you ever been somewhere in somebody, you know, if I were you, you know, if I were him. We always find it easy to be further away from something and describe what it should be. But if I were God, I. I'd go big. I'd launch with clarity, with noise, with certainty. There'd be no confusion, no waiting, no wondering, just unmistakable, undeniable, super cool, superhuman movement.
[00:00:59] The problem is, that's just not how God works.
[00:01:03] 1st Samuel 16. 7, it says the Lord doesn't see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart over and over, again and again. God chooses what we would overlook. A shepherd named Abraham. An aging couple with no kids. An impossible promise. That's where the whole story begins. Not with strength, but weakness. Not with abundance, but absence. Not with certainty, but trust.
[00:01:32] And then Joseph. I mean, thrown in a pit, sold into slavery, forgotten in prison. He couldn't see the palace from the pit. And maybe that's the whole point, because most of us are trying to see the whole story. We love that. We love to get to the end.
[00:01:51] Meanwhile, God is asking us to be faithful in the sentence and breath that we're currently living in.
[00:01:58] Joseph, he didn't have a platform. He had a moment. And he chose faithfulness inside of that moment. That's how God builds something that's lasting, something that's sustainable, something that's quietly, slowly, beneath the surface. So here's my question for you today, dear listener. What if the small thing in front of you right now is not insignificant? I want to say it again. What if the small thing in front of you right now is not an insignificant thing? What if it's the exact place that God is working in you, through you, and for you? Because the pattern hasn't changed. A shepherd boy named David. A stuttering leader named Moses. A frightened man named Gideon.
[00:02:43] Small, hidden, overlooked, and yet chosen, just like you.
[00:02:52] So maybe today isn't about doing something impressive. Maybe it's all about doing something faithful.
[00:03:00] One decision, one act. Of trust one quiet. Yes. Because in the hands of God, small is never just small, and small is never not enough.
[00:03:12] It's amazing what God chooses to honor and what God chooses to bless.
[00:03:19] If you just look at the Scriptures all the way from Genesis to the book of the Revelation, it's small faithfulness that matters. Not the big things, not the explosive things, not the wild, unimaginable things, but simply the good things that happen over and over again. That happen by faithfulness, that happened by trust.
