Show Notes

This episode of the Weekday Podcast focuses on the transformative power of grace and the treasure we have in Jesus. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 4:6-7 and Ephesians 2:8, Pastor Bobby highlights that Jesus Himself is our ultimate treasure, offering grace that cleanses, heals, and lifts us up. Grace is described as an ongoing gift, not something we earn but receive freely, empowering us to both experience God's love and share it with others. Listeners are encouraged to reflect on whether Jesus is their greatest treasure and to trust and grow in His grace daily.

Well, hey friends, welcome to another edition of the Weekday Podcast. We're so glad you're here. We hope that this is super encouraging for you today, and if so, we'd be so honored if you'd consider sharing this with a friend. Just send them to the website weekdaypodcast.com but today on the podcast I want to think about this idea of grace and the treasure that we have in Jesus.

Listen to what Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:6-7. He said, "For God, who said, let light shine out of darkness, has made his light to shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in in the face of Christ." He goes on to say this, "but we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all surpassing power is from God and it's not from us." So think about this way. When it comes to grace and it comes to our treasure, Jesus Himself is our treasure. That grace is precious because Jesus is precious. Grace changes our lives because he changes our lives. It secures us because he will do it. The gift is actually the Giver Himself.

So I want to encourage you today as you think about treasure, that for us to uncover his grace is to discover that God loves you, that he has this resolve to give you cleansing and healing and that kind of purging love that lifts the wounded back to their feet. And the question is, does he stand high on a hill and build you to climb the valley? No, he doesn't do that. But instead he comes down to us. He builds a bridge and he doesn't command us to cross it. He crosses it and he brings us back over on his shoulders.

I Love what Ephesians 2:8 says, "you did not save yourselves. It was the gift from God." And so think about that. This is the gift that God gives. It's the kind of gift that we didn't deserve, we couldn't earn. But it's a grace that grants us the power to receive love and then the power for us to give that love away.

So my question today is, is Jesus your greatest treasure? Have you experienced his grace? Do you trust his grace? And if not, the greatest thing that you could do is to trust him, to put your faith in him and then after you've done that to grow in it. You know it is a verb more than it is a noun. It is more present tense than it is past tense. It didn't just happen, it happens. Grace is ongoing. So today the that treasure comes from Jesus Himself. He is the greatest treasure. My prayer is that you'd experience his grace and you'd give it away today.

Have a great day. We'll see you back here soon.
