[00:00:12] All week long, we spent time with this teenager who got dropped into a culture that was built to reshape him. But instead of drifting, he decided instead of compromising quietly, he made a decision before the pressure hit, and it literally changed the entire direction of his life. Now, here's the line that carried us through this whole arc of this story. The decision that keeps you from drifting is made before the pressure hits. The decision that keeps you from drifting, it is made before the pressure hits. And so I wanted to bring that home today with something really practical, because a good idea that never becomes a decision is just a nice thought that you had once. Daniel's whole story pivots on one sentence. But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself that one sentence. That's the hinge that his entire future swung on. So here's what I wanna encourage you to do, and I want you to actually do it. Like, if you're able to right now, not later, not when you get a minute right now. If you're able to pull out your phone, open your notes app and type one thing, one pre decision, one decision you've been making over and over again in the moment, reactively under pressure, without much thought that you need to actually make right now, in the quiet, before the pressure shows up again. Now, maybe it's how you're going to handle something at work this week. Maybe it's a conversation you've been avoiding and you keep telling yourself you'll get to it. Maybe it's something you keep saying yes to that you need to decide today to say no to. Maybe it's a habit you keep meaning to start or stop and you've been waiting for the right moment that never actually comes. I want you to pull out your phone and in that note, type it. Type that one thing. That note is your version of verse eight in chapter one. That's not dramatic. Nobody's going to clap. But it's the same move that Daniel made, deciding in the quiet what you'll do before the moment demands an answer. Because here's what I know. The God who is with Daniel in a foreign country with no family in the room and no safety net that was underneath them, is the same God who's with you right now in whatever room you're standing in. He's not waiting for you to have it all figured out. He's just asking you to decide today in the quiet who you're going to be tomorrow. If this week has taught us anything, is that decisions doesn't have to be loud. To be real, your decisions don't need an audience. Your decisions don't need to be announced real big and loud. It just needs to be made honestly, quietly before you need it. That's the whole pattern we've been walking through all week. Resolve before you arrive.
[00:02:46] Resist without losing your character. Trust that the results are being built even when you can't see them, and then finally then actually decide.
[00:02:56] The decision you make today is what keeps you from drifting tomorrow. So go ahead and make it. Type the note, close the app, walk into the week already decided. Because character it isn't built in the moment that everyone's watching. It is built in the moment that nobody is. Have a great day. Thanks so much for being part of the Weekday Podcast family.
