[00:00:09] Well, hey, friends, welcome back to another edition of the weekday podcast. My name is Bobby McGraw. I'm so grateful you're here today. Our goal is to offer a cup of encouragement every single day. And you can swing by the weekday podcast website to grab even more episodes. And you can give us a follow on all the social media platforms to get encouragement throughout your day as well. I'm so glad you're here today because today we're talking about something that I think every single person that wants to follow Jesus Jesus faces. And it's the space that I call the in between. It's that awkward, that uncomfortable space between where you were and where you want to be. It's what I call the faith gap. And maybe you're there right now. Maybe you've prayed the prayer, but you haven't seen the answer. Maybe you took the step, but you haven't seen the breakthrough yet. Maybe you said yes to God, but life didn't get easier. It actually got weirder. If you've ever felt like you're stuck in the middle, the good news is you're not alone and you're not doing necessarily anything wrong. In fact, In Hebrews, chapter 11, verse 1, scripture says faith is confidence in what we hope for. And it's the assurance about what we do not see. Now, notice what's missing. [00:01:12] There's not a timeline, there's not a play by play, there's not a how it all works out guarantee. Faith by definition requires uncertainty. And that brings us to the thought of today that spiritual maturity doesn't grow when everything's clear. [00:01:26] Spiritual maturity actually grows when you trust God in the unclear. Now, we don't like the gap. We want fast forward faith. But God often does his deepest work in the waiting. So I want to get super practical. What do you do if you find yourself in the faith gap? What do you do when you're in the middle? Number one, refuse to assume the worst. Now here's what I found. The enemy loves to whisper in the dark. And he'll whisper things like, God forgot you, he changed his mind, you missed it. But that's not true. Faith begins to say, even when I can't see it, I still believe that God is working. So say it out loud today if you need to. God is still good, God is still near, God is still working. So, number one, refuse to assume the worst. Number two, anchor to what you know, not to how you feel. Now, feelings are not facts. What you know is this, that God is faithful, that God keeps his promises, that God always finishes what he starts. And so I would encourage you to write down a promise from scripture that reminds you of who God is. Tape it to the mirror, put it on the lock screen of your phone. Preach it to yourself. When doubt gets loud, anchor to what you know, not to how you feel. And then number three, do the next right thing. Do the next right thing. Faith is not passive. It's not waiting with crossed arms. It is showing up. It's praying again. It's serving again. It's trusting again. See, what I found is the middle is not wasted when you keep walking through it. And here's what I know. If God called you into it, he's going to walk you through it in the middle. It might just be where you become someone who can handle the miracle on the other side. And so thanks again for being with us on today's podcast. If this encouraged you, please, man, share it with someone who's walking through the middle right now. Keep going, because I know that God's not done. We'll see you back here again for another edition of the weekday podcast.
