[00:00:07] Speaker A: Welcome to the Weekday podcast of Sugar Hill Church, where we desire to help you know God and discover your purpose, whether you're exercising, driving, meditating, or just hanging out while you tune in with us today. Thanks. We hope these next five minutes help you feel encouraged and inspired for your day.
[00:00:22] Speaker B: Hi everybody. This is Pastor Chuck Allen with another weekday podcast and I want to remind you of one of my favorite songs these days, the Blessing. Because you may have missed the blessing found In Romans number 6 beginning in verse 24, the message translates it this way. God bless you and keep you. God smile on you and gift you. God look you full in the face and make you prosper. I love that. This promise that God wants to bless us. He wants us to live blessably.
What you believed about yourself when you were a kid is likely what you believe about yourself today. That's what science teaches us and I'm living proof of it. In many ways, you might believe what you were told by your folks or your friends or your family or maybe your bullies. Maybe you still carry invisible tattoos. Reading last to be picked or slow or stupid or worthless. I mean, we all carry these across our life and it just depends on how long we carry them. On bad days, you might still believe what someone said that you were when you were 10 or 12 or 17.
It doesn't matter if it's true or not. You'll accept it as true even when the evidence can suggest otherwise. If no one has ever spoken a blessing into your life, consider this. Before you were born, the God of all creation knew your name. He fit you together in your mother's womb and he called you a Masterpiece. In Psalm 139, he created you for something that only you can do. Yes, you'll sin, but God will forgive you. He will never abandon you. He has always adored you and he still has a plan for you. Don't pay attention to what others call you or called you. Pay attention to what he calls you because he blesses you. Because you are his child. God bless you, friend. Thanks so much for listening in to today's weekday podcast.
