[00:00:22] Speaker A: Well, hey friends, welcome back to another edition of the Weekday podcast. Thanks for hanging out with us today. My name is Bobby. I'm so glad you're here today. Today I want to think about this idea of where do you find strength in the middle? The messy middle we find ourselves in. Genesis 40, verse 23 has this one line that is heartbreaking. It says, yet the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him. Now, chances are you know what that feels like. You've been overlooked. Like you did everything right, but it didn't seem to matter. You showed up, you worked hard, you were faithful. And yet nothing changed. Joseph knew that feeling. He had helped a fellow prisoner. He interpreted a dream that eventually led to the man's release. All he asked was to be remembered. But the moment the man got out, it says he forgot Joseph. Can you imagine how that must have felt? Joseph had already endured betrayal, slavery, and false accusations. And now, when he thought he might finally, I'm telling you, finally catch a break, he was forgotten. Yet it was in that place, that forgotten place, that God was still working. And I'm telling you, strength comes in that waiting. Joseph's prison years were not wasted years. While he waited, he grew. He grew stronger. While he felt forgotten, God was actually preparing him for a future he couldn't yet see. What if the waiting that you're in isn't the obstacle to your formation? What if the waiting is actually your formation? Now, we live in a world of instant everything. Instant coffee, instant downloads, instant results. But God's process, I'm telling you, takes time. And just like a butterfly's struggle to emerge strengthens its wings, your struggles are actually strengthening you. So maybe your middle feels like praying, but feeling like heaven is silent, or watching others get what you've already been waiting for, or feeling forgotten in your work or relationships. But I'm telling you, God has not forgotten you. The middle is not meant to break you. It is meant to build you. And so here's my encouragement. The middle isn't trying to break you. It is actually trying to build you. And so as you take that away today, where do you need to find strength today? And instead of rushing through the waiting, maybe that you would ask God, God, what are you building in me. And so today I'd love to pray for you and pray with you, Father. I don't know what everybody's going through, but we don't want to just go through the season. We actually want to grow in it. And God, when we feel forgotten, would you remind us that you see us? And God, would you strengthen us for whatever is next and it's in Jesus name we pray. Amen. Have a great day. We look forward to seeing you back here soon for another edition of the Weekday podcast.
