[00:00:22] Speaker B: Hey, everybody, this is Pastor Chuck Allen. I want to thank you for joining me on another weekday podcast where I want to take us to the 36th Psalm. Today. In verses 5, 6, and 7, here's what the psalmist writes. Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O Lord, how precious is your unfailing love. O God, all humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. Now listen to that again. Here's what he's saying, that his love is vast. His faithfulness is huge. His righteousness is mighty. His justice is deep. His care is earnest. His precious and unfailing love for all humanity allows us to hide in the shadow of his wings. Wow. I mean, this is the very picture of God's relationship with us. It's been said that a picture is worth a thousand words, right? Well, in today's verses, the psalmist uses just a few words to paint some pretty dramatic pictures. With a series of metaphors, the psalmist describes some of the unbelievable blessings that we as followers of Jesus get to experience because of God's character. I mean, think about this. His ever faithful, ever loyal love is truly out of this world. It is beyond human comprehension. No metaphor can describe it well, because it's so great that it reaches beyond the clouds, the heavens, or the deepest ocean. The Lord's righteousness, the scripture says, is steady like rock solid like the mountains, and judgments are as deep as the ocean. But the metaphor that gives us the greatest insight into the heart of God is found in verse seven. We can find shelter in our Lord, just as baby chickens take refuge under the shelter of their mama hen's wings. Because God loves us. His arms are open to us. Today, all we have to do is run to him and he will provide shelter and he will provide protection. Lord, your unfailing love is as vast as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is as glory as the highest mighty mountain. Your justice is as deep as the deepest ocean. Thank you for caring for people and animals alike with your unfailing love. Thank you for the shelter that I get to experience and we get to experience in the shadow of your wings. I rejoice because your unfailing love is the most precious thing to me. A.W. tozer, the great theologian who passed away in 1963, made this statement, and I'll quote God's love is measureless. It is more, it is boundless. It has no bounds because it is not a thing but a facet of the essential nature of God. His love is something he is, and because he is infinite, that love can enfold the whole created world in itself and have room for 10,000 times 10,000 worlds beside. Oh my friend, we serve a mighty and a righteous God today. Celebrate that in your life and in your prayer life and enjoy his goodness and grace. God bless you, friend. Thanks so much for joining me on today's Weekday podcast.
