If you're new to these, this is a ministry, just a resource that comes from Sugar Hill Church in Northeast Georgia. And so if you live here locally, be I'd love to invite you just go to Sugarhill Church to find out all about us and to plan a visit so that we can roll out the red carpet for you and make it an easy process for you to show up. And even if you don't live here, you're welcome to be part of this resource and to watch and join us on Live at Live Sugarhill Church. Well, today on the podcast, I want to think about this idea of grace happening. Grace happening in our life. And this is based on a devotion I read recently that I thought was super helpful. It's Based on Psalm 62, verses 1 and 2. Listen to what the psalmist says. He says, I find rest in God. Think about that. I find rest in God. Only he can save me. He is my rock and he's my salvation. Notice the focus of the psalmist. The focus is on God. And the reason why I point that out is because a lot of times we try to find salvation on our own. We attempt to find rest on our own, but in the end it actually leads to exhaustion. Why? Because we're trying to work our best efforts, trying to please God. It's almost like we're trying to collect the old school merit badges or brownie points or, you know, we're trying to earn it on our own. And I just want to invite you to say, let's stop that. Instead of trying to create grace, let's allow grace to happen in our lives. Hebrews 13, verse 9 says, Your heart should be strengthened by God's grace, not by obeying rules. Let me read that again. Your heart should be strengthened by God's grace, not by obeying rules. In other words, Jesus never said, hey, come to me if you're perfect and sinless. Instead, in Matthew 11, he says, Come to me if you're weary, heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Now, when I read that in my Bible, there's no fine print on that verse. There's no footnote on that verse. There's not something else he's asking us to do. God's promise doesn't have some sort of hidden limit language. Instead, it's an invitation to let grace happen. Let grace happen to quit performing and to quit clamoring, trying to create it ourselves instead to allow and to receive the unending affection from God. So I want to encourage you, quit trying, quit trying to create it yourself and let grace happen in your life. And today, may you say, like the Psalmist In Psalm 62, verse 1, I find rest in God. Have a great day. We'll see you back here soon. [00:03:03] Speaker A: Thanks so much for joining us today for the weekday podcast.
