[00:00:07] Speaker A: Welcome to the weekday podcast of Sugar Hill Church, where we desire to help you know God and discover your purpose, whether you're exercising, driving, meditating, or just hanging out while you tune in with us today. Thanks. We hope these next five minutes help you feel encouraged and inspired for your day.
[00:00:22] Speaker B: Hi, everybody. Pastor Chuck Allen here with another weekday podcast, and I want to talk to you about what happens when the door is closed. You ever had those moments where you just felt like every. Everywhere you turned, the door was closed and somebody was saying, nope, not today. Nope. We don't have room for you today. Nope. You don't get that break you need today. Nope. You don't get that benefit you wanted today. We've all been there, right? Let me tell you about closed doors. Mary and Joseph arrive in Bethlehem, and every inn has a no vacancy sign. Now, most of us would be complaining about our bad luck. It's like, what in the world, man? I got a pregnant, not quite wife with me and watch this, though. What looked like rejection was actually divine direction. Did you hear me? What looked like rejection was actually divine direction. You see, God wasn't caught off guard by those closed doors. He was orchestrating them. The King of kings wasn't meant to be born in a Holiday Inn or a Marriott. He was designed for a manger. Here's the spiritual principle, y'all. Sometimes God closes doors not to block you, but to direct you. Boy, I've seen that in my life where it's like, God, I just need this break. I pray, I pray, I pray, I beg, I beg, I beg. I want something to happen my way, but it just doesn't work that way out. And then all of a sudden, I look back in hindsight and realize God set me up for something greater.
Maybe that job you didn't get, that relationship that didn't work out, that house you couldn't buy. God might be protecting you from what you want, to give you what you need. The stable wasn't plan B, y'all. It was plan A all along. And the same's true in your life. These closed doors aren't dead ends. They're divine detours. Take the detour with God today and thank you for joining me on another weekday podcast. God bless you. Bye now.
[00:02:24] Speaker A: Thanks so much for joining us today for the weekday podcast. Our prayer is that the encouragement you just heard would help you live more like Jesus today.
