[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign.
[00:00:15] Speaker B: Well, hey, friends, welcome to the weekday podcast. We're so glad you're here today. I don't know if you've ever had that moment where you just feel, maybe forgotten. Have you ever walked into a room and you wondered, does anybody notice I'm here? Have you ever scrolled through social media and felt like everyone else is getting invited, celebrated included, except for you?
It's that subtle ache that can grow louder over time. That feeling of invisibility.
Maybe the sense of maybe, just maybe, I'm not as seen or as needed as I'd hoped. Well, honestly, that's one of the reasons that makes the story of Mephibosheth in 2nd Samuel 9 so powerful. If you don't know his story, he was the last in a fallen lion. He was the grandson of a disgraced king who is the son of a beloved but long dead warrior. He was living in Lo Debar, this desolate place that was far from the palace life he once might have inherited. And most people had forgotten about him. And likely, I think, he felt like God had forgotten about him too. But the king David asked a question that changes everything.
In 2 Samuel 9:1, he asks this question. Is there anyone left of the house of Saul that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake? This wasn't a PR move. This wasn't a strategy to win hearts. This was a move born from a memory and from grace. And maybe today you feel distant. Maybe today you feel forgotten, like your prayers have gone unanswered, or maybe life has just dulled your sense of hope.
But here's the good news. Today, the king, he has not forgotten you.
He sees where you are. He knows your name. And he's actively working grace into your story, even.
Even when you can't see it yet. He's not waiting on you to get his attention. He's already thinking about you. He's already pursuing you. He's already preparing your place at the table. So today, I want to encourage you. You may feel forgotten, but you have never once been overlooked by the king. And if this encourages you, check out 2 Samuel chapter 9 today and read the story of somebody that was reminded that you. You are not forgotten. Have a great day. See you back here soon.
