[00:00:09] Well, hey, friends, welcome to Friday's edition of the Weekday Podcast. I'm so glad you've been with us this week. If you missed any single day of this week, just swing by weekdaypodcast.com and I'd love for you to catch up. Today's episode is around three words that change everything we've been tracking with the story in 2nd Kings 6. And there's something powerful that happens. There's this prayer that's embedded in this passage that I honestly can't get out of my head. Now, if you know the story, Elisha's servant has seen the army surrounding the city, and he's terrified. He's overwhelmed. What's interesting is Elisha doesn't preach at him. Elisha doesn't beat him up. He doesn't hand him a strategy. Instead, he prays three words on his behalf. And here's the words. Open his eyes. That's it. There's no long petition, there's no elaborate theology. Just, lord, let them see what's actually real. And I keep coming back to that prayer because I think it's one of the prayers that most of us need. Not just in a crisis, but on a regular Tuesday, on the morning that the anxiety is high and the circumstances feel heavy in the middle of a conversation that keeps going sideways. And those quiet after a hard week where you're not sure you believe the things that you used to believe. Open my eyes. Not open the situation, not fix what's broken around me. Not make the enemy go away. Just let me see what's true. Because here's what the story keeps showing us. The problem is almost never that God is absent. The problem almost always is that we can't see what he's doing. The chariots were there before the prayer. The army on their side was already in place. The servant just couldn't see it. And you can't draw strength from a reality that you can't perceive. If you can't see it, you can't draw from it.
[00:01:48] So here's how to carry this prayer with you into the weekend. When the pressure comes, and it will. Before you react, before you spiral, before you draft the response or run the plan. Stop. Just stop. Take a breath and pray the simplest prayer in the whole story. Open my eyes.
[00:02:06] Let me see what's real. Let me see who's with me. Let me see what you actually want me to do. Because that prayer has been changing things for thousands of years, and I believe it can still Change things today. 2nd Kings 17 Open my eyes. Have a great day. We can't wait to see you back here next week for the weekday podcast. And also if you're here in the Atlanta area, would love for you to join us this Sunday at 9:15 or 11 as we continue our you asked for it series. Have a great day. We'll see you soon.
