Thanks. We hope these next five minutes help you feel encouraged and inspired for your day. [00:00:22] Speaker A: Well, hey friends, welcome back to another edition of the Weekday Podcast. I'm so glad you're with us today. We're One of Jesus most famous stories and teachings is the story of the prodigal son. It comes from Luke, chapter 15. And there's this one line in there that really sticks out to me today, talking about the son after he had squandered everything. It says when he came to his senses, when he came to his senses, he said, how many of my father's hired servants have food to spare? And here I am, starving to death. Let me ask you a question. Have you ever lost something valuable? Maybe it was a wallet. Maybe it was your phone. Maybe it was some important document. And that sinking feeling hits hard, doesn't it? Your stomach drops, your heart races, and you frantically retrace your steps. But what if I told you that sometimes losing something can actually be a gift? Now, I don't know about you guys, but I've got so many stories of losing something important. Usually it's some important document that I think I don't need it right now, but I'm going to just tuck it away. And then months later, when it's time to do tax or whatever that thing is, I cannot find it. Well, the prodigal son had a moment. He had this moment that was on a huge scale. He walked away from his father's wealth. He walked away from security and his future, thinking he could handle life on his own. But then the money ran out. His wallet was empty, his stomach was empty. And his pride, well, his pride was shattered. The Bible says in Luke 15:17 that he came to his senses. In other words, there's that moment when he realized that every, everything he had walked away from was still waiting for him at home. And sometimes, here's what I found. We have to lose something to realize its true value. And so I want to encourage you today, take a moment. What have you lost that made you realize what truly matters? And instead of dwelling on regret, ask God, what are you teaching me through this? And if you feel like you've messed up, know this. God's not done with you. God specializes in redeeming what is lost. This kid, he had a lost wallet. But a lasting lesson. And maybe whatever we lose can be a lesson for us that God can use for our growth. Have a great day. We'll see you back here soon. [00:02:33] Speaker B: Thanks so much for joining us today for the weekday podcast.
