[00:00:07] Speaker A: Welcome to the weekday podcast of Sugar Hill Church, where we desire to help you know God and discover your purpose, whether you're exercising, driving, meditating, or just hanging out while you tune in with us today. Thanks. We hope these next five minutes help you feel encouraged and inspired for your day. [00:00:22] Speaker B: Hi, everybody, and thanks so much for joining me. On today's weekday podcast, I want to talk about how grace is actually life itself. In the 111th Psalm, beginning in verse 4, the Scripture says, the Lord is gracious and full of compassion. He has given food to those who fear Him. Now, if you've listened to the weekday podcast much at all over the past years, you know that when we hear about the fear of the Lord, the best way to interpret that in our English language is to be an awe of the holiness of God. So I think over the years, part of what I have learned is that if you really keep your mind focused and your eyes peeled to it and your ears open to it, if you really pay attention to it, even such a limited and limiting life as the one that I've lived just through all my different, you know, decades is you really can have your life opened up to some extraordinary vistas. I think about growing up in Daytona beach and the ocean and the beauty of it. I think about living in Rhode island and New England and the beauty of what those falls were like, but on the water there in a totally different experience. I think about a brief time living in Lubbock, Texas, and what West Texas brought. I think about the beauty and the grandeur of Georgia with the mountains and four hours from the ocean and the four seasons. I see all of those things. And I think to myself, you know, I've lived some extraordinary vistas. When you take your children to school, when you kiss your spouse goodbye, eating lunch with a good friend, or trying to do an honorable day's work. Sometimes when you hear the rain just kind of splat and patter against the window, there is no event so commonplace but that God is present within it, always, hiddenly, always living you, always leaving you, I should say, room to recognize him or to not recognize Him. Now think about that. So whatever's happening in your life, whether it's a great day or just a stinky day, God is in all that we do because he is grace itself and life itself is grace. So I look at this and I think, I have a choice today, right now, will I recognize him in the beauty of this world or will I not recognize Him? But all the more fascinatingly because of that, all the more compelling and hauntingly is God's presence in all things, in all ways. If I were called upon to state in a few words the very essence of everything that I'm trying to say, which seems like I'm rambling some today, it'd be something like this. Listen to your life. See it for the unbelievable mystery that it is, and in the boredom and pain of this life, no less than in the excitement and joy of this life. Go ahead, touch, taste and smell your way to the holy and the hidden heart of God and find him in it. Because in the last analysis, all moments are extraordinarily key moments and life itself is grace. Every life moment is a God wink where God's grace in very tangible ways is occurring today. Remember how he touches yours. Lord. Thank you for all the ways your grace touches our life this day. Amen. I'm so glad you joined me on today's weekday podcast. God bless you. Go in peace. [00:04:38] Speaker A: Thanks so much for joining us today for the weekday podcast. Our prayer is that the encouragement you just heard would help you live more like Jesus today.
